This unique place has a style all its own. This old schoolhouse meets rustic charm in this classroom turned living space. You will find creativity around every corner in this two- bedroom apartment. Rustic metal highlights the 12-ft ceilings. Each room has large windows that let in an abundance of natural light. The open concept living space is comfortable and spills over into a fully-equipped kitchen and dining area. The first bedroom has a queen-sized bed and space for hanging your clothes. The second bedroom has a cabin-like feel with a bunk bed that has a double bed on the bottom and a twin bed on top. It is a built-in, very sturdy bed with comfortable mattresses suitable for kids or adults. This apartment is ADA compliant for accessibility. The bathroom has a large stand-up / roll-in shower, vanity, towels, and a selection of bath essentials. These apartments have everything you need to make your stay comfortable. There is a shared laundry facility should you need that during your visit.

Other Details to Note

This property is a unique setting — it is a renovated school building originally built in 1924. It has a rich history in the North Cove community. Because it's an older building, it has certain "uniquenesses," like beautiful hardwood floors that tend to creak. There are large windows that let in tons of light, but because they are older, we have added extra window coverings for insulation. Our campus used to have a walking track, field, and playground, but Hurricane Helene took some of those amenities away. Our building weathered the storm well, but outside you may see ongoing work to prevent future damage. For instance, they have been replacing our previous bridge, and the Baxter Healthcare factory next door is building a levee along our creek to keep future floodwaters out. For those that love or dislike trains, there are a set of train tracks that run right near our property. We are located near many mountain attractions, such as Linville Falls, the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Linn Cove Viaduct, North Cove Disc Golf, Linville Falls winery, several Christmas tree farms, the Orchard at Altapass, and Grandfather Mountain. Many trails and views abound in this area. Up that direction are also several slopes for skiing or snow-tubing. We are about 45 minutes from Asheville. For those in the medical industry, we are about 20 minutes from both Mission Hospital McDowell in Marion and Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine. GENERAL • Only registered guests are allowed on the property unless approved in advance. • Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. • No parties or events unless pre-approved. • Please be respectful of other guests, neighbors, and the property. • Do not move furniture or beds. • Report any damage or maintenance issues as soon as possible. SMOKING • No smoking or vaping inside the building. • No smoking within 50 feet of any doors, windows, or entrances. • Dispose of cigarette butts properly. • Evidence of smoking indoors will result in a minimum $250 cleaning fee. PETS • Pets allowed with approval and pet fee. • Maximum of 2 pets unless approved in advance. • Maximum size 50 pounds. • Pets must be house-trained. • Pets must be crated if left unattended in the unit. • Pets are not allowed on beds or furniture. • Guests must clean up after pets outside. • Excessive pet hair, stains, or damage may result in additional cleaning fees. • Guests are responsible for any pet damage. • Undisclosed pets will result in a $250 fee. CLEANLINESS / CHECKOUT • Wash dishes or start dishwasher before checkout. • Place used towels in the bathroom. • Take trash to designated trash area. • Leave the unit in reasonable condition. SAFETY / PROPERTY RULES • Lock doors and windows when leaving. • Do not share door codes with anyone outside your group. • No candles, open flames, or fireworks. • Do not hang items from lights or ceilings.. • No climbing on bunk beds or railings, except using as intended. • Do not bring cooking appliances into bedrooms or bunk rooms. LEGAL / LIABILITY • No illegal drugs or illegal activity on the property. • No weapons discharge on the property. • Guests are responsible for the actions of everyone in their group. • Any fines, damages, or excessive cleaning will be charged to the reservation holder. OUTDOOR / MUD / RURAL PROPERTY • Remove muddy boots before entering the building. • Do not track mud inside. • Do not wash muddy equipment in sinks or showers.
